Presenters: Dale Fiedler & Paul Targonski

Description: Fellow Ambassador, Dale Fiedler, and Principal Investigator, Paul Targonski, presented research plans for the RURAL “Risk Underlying Rural Areas Longitudinal” Study. This 6-year study funded by the National Institutes of Health’s National Heart Lung and Blood Institute is being led by 3 co-principal investigators and a team of over 50 additional investigators from 15 universities around the country. The RURAL study aims to explore multiple research questions focused on the underlying elements propagating health disparities across rural communities with similar socioeconomic, environmental, and demographic indicators. Dale Fiedler shared about his role as a community engagement advisor and how this role overlaps with his duties as a PCORI Ambassador.
